There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain. – Isaiah 4:6
I find something about a late night thunderstorm relaxing.
Is it the steady rhythm of the rain drops beating against the sides of the house?
Is it the memories of childhood, sitting snuggled up beside grandma and listening to her soothing voice telling me the sounds of thunder is God rearranging His furniture?
Is it being in awe of the power of nature?
I don’t know. I only know it is soothing after a hot hectic stressed filled day.
Perhaps it is Grace whispering, “Rest my child. Tomorrow is a new day.”
Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for the cooling rains and for the reminder that whenever storms of life come our way, you are still in control. Storms are but a moment in time and after the storm is calm. In Christ name. Amen.
